Are you in a dietetic internship program and seeking an elective rotation? Are you interested in learning more about plant-based nutrition and the benefits of a vegan diet in clinical care? NOBIDAN is excited to offer a unique opportunity for its student members. Barnard Medical Center (BMC) will host 1-2 NOBIDAN dietetic intern students per year for a 150-hr elective rotation on plant-based nutrition. The internship is unpaid, however when available, housing will be offered at their nearby guest house, and metro reimbursement will be provided.
BMC, located in Washington DC, combines medical care with the latest advances in prevention and nutrition to help create individualized health care plans for its growing patient population of 5,000. Dietetic internship candidates would shadow dietitian’s patient appointments at BMC, learn about the health benefits of vegan diets, participate in patient nutrition education classes, assist with our Academy approved Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Program, and present on an educational topic of their choice to the clinical staff.
To learn more about their program and to apply, go here. Interested candidates are welcome to apply through BMC with at least 3 months’ notice and be interviewed. Please include that you are a NOBIDAN student member in your application.
If you are interested in seeking guidance on the application process or have specific questions, please feel free to connect with us at NOBIDAN@eatright.org.
